Bush BIBFOSAX Oven: Stuck Door

Bush BIBFOSAX Oven

You’ve just received your Bush BIBFOSAX oven, which you probably bought from a store like Argos. You open the box and carefully remove the oven, without putting any weight on the door as instructed.

With the original packaging out of the way, you try to open the oven door… but it doesn’t open! The door moves a little bit, but you’re already using more force than you normally would, so you stop because you don’t want to break the door. Maybe there’s something that locks it in place for transport? So you go to consult the manual, which you can’t because it’s inside the oven, so you search online and find the manual, which tells you nothing about this.

If you’re like me, you may even call Bush’s support number and ask them if there’s something preventing the door from opening. A lock, a bolt, etc? But the guy is dumbfounded, I mean, it’s just a door, you just have to open it! Unless, somehow, it got damaged in transport?

Then you ask someone to hold the oven while you use two hands (on each side of bar), use a bit of force, and… it opens! You feel like a moron for calling the support line, question why you can’t even a f****** door and if this is the beginning of your inevitable decline, but hey, at least it’s open and you can install it now, something that is very easy (a regular wall plug, 4 screws) compared to open that tight door for the first time. ๐Ÿ’€
