s23u-simplequality.agc

Only for the Galaxy S23 Ultra. 99.9% based on the amazing "EGOISTv44betaAGC8.4v9.6" by EGOIST, but with small changes (fix dark HDR+/ZSL, disable manual controls, make file names similar to stock, etc).

Do not contact EGOIST for support. For that, you must use his config (available on telegram).

Important:

When using this config for day to day pictures, you should use mainly two profiles (top right icon on the viewfinder): "Main" (or "Bright", if pictures are too dark) and "Motion". The first one (main or bright) is slower and better when there's enough light/you don't need speed. The second (motion) is faster and so it's a better option for when there's movement/you need speed.

You can also use HDR+ ON/ZSL instead of HDR+ Enhanced for fast captures (ZSL=Zero Shutter Lag). The dynamic range isn't as good, but it will be very fast. Make sure to be steady for a moment before capturing the picture, otherwise the picture may end up looking weird.

Downloads:

Specifically made for AGC8.4.300_V9.6, you need to use samsung apks (_ruler or_scan3d). Do not use newer 8.4 versions!

This config must be used with a custom lib created by EGOIST, so download both files:

Instructions:

  1. Download and install GCam (_ruler or_scan3d)
  2. Download the config and lib files
  3. Open GCam, load the config
    1. Put the config (s23u-simplequality.agc) inside /Download/AGC.8.4/configs (create folder if it doesn't exist)
    2. Open GCam then swipe down to open the top menu
    3. Click on "Load Configs" > select the config > load
  4. Load the lib file
    1. Open GCam and swipe down to open the top menu
    2. Click on "More settings"
    3. Go to Libraries > "Copy third-party lib to app" > and select the shgv1.2k16.so file
    4. Click on "Load custom library" and select "shgv1.2k16.so"
  5. That's it, use GCam!

Profiles:

Profiles are available via the icon on the top right corner. Profiles are different settings, for different situations.

There's an explanation of the older profiles here, but to keep it simple, if you want to use this as a replacement for Samsung camera and just take normal pictures, you'll want to use 2 or 3 profiles:

Essentially, see if you prefer the brightness of Profile 1 or 2 and use the best one as your main profile. When you see to capture motion, use Profile 4.

You can also explore the other profiles. For example:

But... keep it simple:

Bugs:

ZSL on the S23U can be buggy and have a "mold effect" on the pictures. Using HDR+ Enhanced and a fast profile like Motion can be better than using HDR+ On/ZSL.
