There&#8217;s a 2021 Redmi Note 8 which has a Mediatek SoC, where GCam will have some problems. If you have that phone, maybe <a href=\"https:\/\/www.celsoazevedo.com\/files\/android\/p\/gcam-redmi-note-8-pro\/\">versions for the 8 Pro<\/a> will work.<\/p>\n<p>Back to the 2019 models, GCam works fine on the 8 and 8T with all main cameras working fine. You&#8217;ll have access to HDR, portrait mode, night sight, etc. However, since the 48MP main rear sensor uses pixel binning, all 3rd party camera apps (including Google Camera) is only able to use 12MP (like the default on the stock camera).<\/p>\n<p>The main limitations are on video modes. Features like slow motion or video stabilisation might be better on the stock camera.<\/p>\n<p>Something else to keep in mind is that as this device ages, <em>newer<\/em> GCam versions might not be the <em>best<\/em> ones.
